The story
Newstead Abbey is one of Nottingham's most desirable places to live. Gated, private, with homes worth between one and ten million pounds. It had everything an address like that should, apart from the one thing nobody could see on the brochure: a working internet connection.

For all the grandeur, broadband crawled along at barely 1MB, and there was no fibre coming. For homes run on connectivity as much as anything else, that was a real limit on daily life.

The Process
We have worked in the Newstead Abbey grounds for more than 25 years, and for most of that time connectivity was the problem we kept returning to. With no fibre on the horizon, we worked through every option available: satellite, 3G and 4G routers, slowly lifting speeds to around 25MB. A genuine improvement, but still short of what these homes needed.

When Starlink launched in 2020, we moved quickly. Our engineers designed and installed it across the community, and then well beyond it.
The Solution
Starlink now serves more than 10 homes within Newstead Abbey, with the same approach reaching over 100 homes across remote parts of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, the places where broadband had always been the weak link.

The change is hard to overstate. Homes that struggled to cross 1MB now run at 215MB. Reliable, fast and finally fit for how people actually live and work.

The Result
Connectivity that matches the address at last. For homes this remote, a fast and dependable connection is not a luxury, it is the thing everything else relies on.

It is also the kind of problem we are built to keep solving. The same team that designed and installed each system stays responsible for it through TrustPack, so if anything changes, the people who know the setup are the ones who look after it.
“We had a beautiful home and an internet connection that barely worked. They solved what nobody else could, and we went from unusable to faster than friends in the city centre.”
