The story
Before it was a family home again, East Bridgford Hill was a building at risk. Grade II listed and set on greenbelt land, the main house and its outbuildings had fallen into disrepair, in need of the kind of intervention only a small handful of projects ever get the chance to receive.

Architects and a conservation team worked closely with the owners to bring the house back, restoring the main building sympathetically while adding new dwellings within the grounds, contemporary in design but careful never to compete with the history sitting beside them. By the time the renovation was complete, the house had gone from at risk to restored.

That's the house we were brought into. Technology on a project like this has to earn its place quietly, working within the constraints of a protected building rather than around them. The brief covered the whole property: a reliable network and internet connection reaching every corner of the house and grounds, a dedicated cinema room, audio and video running through the main living spaces, and sound extending out across the lawns. Screens were fitted as mirrors and behind artwork rather than left on show, so rooms restored to their period character stayed that way, with the technology built in rather than added on.

The Solution
A robust network and Wi-Fi backbone was laid in first, covering the house and grounds fully, with Starlink providing fast, reliable connectivity independent of the local landline infrastructure - an important consideration on a rural, listed property recovering from years of neglect.

The cinema room is the centrepiece of the entertainment install: tiered Moovia reclining seats, each with their own drinks and remote console, set within dark acoustic wall panelling and lit by a starlit ceiling and blue and magenta LED detailing that frames the screen like a proper theatre rather than a spare room with a projector in it. A JVC projector throws the picture, with Lyngdorf handling the sound and delivering the kind of clarity and depth the room's design demands. It's built for the family to properly disappear into a film, not just watch one.

Beyond the cinema, multi-room audio and video distribution carry sound and picture through the rest of the restored home. Rather than televisions left on display in period rooms, screens are built in as mirror TVs and hidden behind artwork, respecting the character the restoration worked so hard to bring back. Outdoors, discreet audio extends the same experience across the lawns and parkland.
The Result
A house that went from at risk to restored, now running technology throughout that nobody would guess is there. Wi-Fi and connectivity that holds up across the property and grounds, a cinema room for proper film nights, and screens that only reveal themselves when they're wanted; the rest of the time, East Bridgford Hill looks exactly as its restoration intended.
